Cold spraying on induction pans – applied for domestic purpose

To make the premium aluminium cast cookware usable on induction cookers, the cookware needs to have a ferromagnetic (magnetisable) layer.

By cold spraying a ferritic powder, is sprayed with high kinetic energy, on the bottom of the aluminium cookware. The coating material is not melted onto the surface, instead it is sprayed or rather micro-welded. This happens in a cold-kinetic compaction process. Resulting in an adhesive, almost oxide-free layer, that shows an excellent functionality on induction cookers as well as on other cookers.
